Genome Sequence of the Thermophilic Biomass-Degrading Fungus Malbranchea cinnamomea FCH 10.5
We report here the annotated draft genome sequence of the thermophilic biomass-degrading fungus Malbranchea cinnamomea strain FCH 10.5, isolated from compost at a waste treatment plant in Vietnam. The genome sequence contains 24.96 Mb with an overall GC content of 49.79% and comprises 9,437 protein-coding genes.
متن کاملCombined genome and transcriptome sequencing to investigate the plant cell wall degrading enzyme system in the thermophilic fungus Malbranchea cinnamomea
Background Genome and transcriptome sequencing has greatly facilitated the understanding of biomass-degrading mechanisms in a number of fungal species. The information obtained enables the investigation and discovery of genes encoding proteins involved in plant cell wall degradation, which are crucial for saccharification of lignocellulosic biomass in second-generation biorefinery applications....
متن کاملEfficient plant biomass degradation by thermophilic fungus Myceliophthora heterothallica.
Rapid and efficient enzymatic degradation of plant biomass into fermentable sugars is a major challenge for the sustainable production of biochemicals and biofuels. Enzymes that are more thermostable (up to 70°C) use shorter reaction times for the complete saccharification of plant polysaccharides compared to hydrolytic enzymes of mesophilic fungi such as Trichoderma and Aspergillus species. Th...
متن کاملDraft genome sequence of pectic polysaccharide-degrading moderate thermophilic bacterium Geobacillus thermodenitrificans DSM 101594
Geobacillus thermodenitrificans DSM 101594 was isolated as a producer of extracellular thermostable pectic polysaccharide degrading enzymes. The completely sequenced genome was 3.6Mb in length with GC content of 48.86%. A number of genes encoding enzymatic active against the high molecular weight polysaccharides of potential biotechnological importance were identified in the genome.
متن کاملDraft Genome Sequence of Burkholderia sp. Strain WAC0059, a Bacterium Isolated from the Medicinal Fungus Antrodia cinnamomea
Burkholderia sp. strain WAC0059 was isolated from a fruiting body of the medicinal fungus Antrodia cinnamomea collected in Taiwan. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of this bacterium to facilitate the investigation of its biology.
